DANGEROUS LEVEL OF TEMPERATURE

DANGEROUS LEVEL OF TEMPERATURE
Defining what is dangerous interferences with the climate system is a complex task. Over the past two decades several expert groups have sought to define levels of climate change that could be tolerable or intolerable or characterized different levels of risk,. Based on the available knowledge at present, a 2c increases determined to be “an upper limit” beyond which the risks of grave damages to ecosystems are expected to increase rapidly.

More recently others in the scientific community have reached conclusions in a similar direction “that global warming of more than 1c, relative to 2000, will constitute ‘dangerous’ climate change as judged from likely effects on sea level and extermination of species.

There are risks of rapid or abrupt changes in climate and the climate system as a consequence of human

GREENHOUSE EFFECTS

Greenhouse is a building with a glass roof and sides enclosing a space in which temperature and humidity cane controlled for cultivating tender or out-of-season plans. Greenhouse became popular in Europe. The favorite crops were pineapples, peaches and grapes; they were grown in green-houses.

Greenhouse effect is defined as the trapping by the earth’s atmosphere of heat energy radiated from the sun. the effect is named after the solar warming observed in greenhouses, although the later effect is in fact more directly the result of trapping warmed air below the ceiling of glass.

GREENHOUSE EFFECTS
All substances absorb energy in the forms of radiation convert fit to heat, and then reradiate the energy. Dark and matt colors absorb higher proportions than lighter shiny colors, such as the ice herein gases, do not absorb very my such radiations (except in the far ultraviolet), unlike the know gases, ozone, nitrous oxide, wear  vapors and carbon dioxide, which have a significant effect on atmospheric absorption.

The amount of radiation absorbed and reradiated varies with the nature of the substance and the wavelength of addition. As for the atmosphere, it is nearly transparent for the short, visible wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum carbon dioxide, ozone, methane, water vapors and nitrous oxide in the air, however, absorb the solar radiation.

CLIMATE CHANGE - A DISASTROUS CATASTROPHE

CLIMATE CHANGE
Nero fiddled while roman burn.  Not much has changed. Recent report of the U.N. panel on climate change and the global warming on account of human activities has spread the message like never before. We are facing a global crisis; if we continue to generate green house gases, we will sink without a trace. The report makes it clear that the days of passing the buck and pussyfooting are over. It says that emissions of carbon dioxide must start declining by 2015 to prevent the world’s temperatures from rising more than 2c over reindustrialized temperatures to stave off disaster. To that end, the emissions of carbon dioxide in particular have to drop between 50 to 85 per cent by 2020.
OBJECTIVES
The result of the melting of most of the Himalayan glaciers by 2030, as predicted by the U.N. panel on climate change, could be truly catastrophic for India and its neigh hours. The Himalayan glaciers are the largest store of water outside the polar ice caps and feed seven grates once the perennial rivers turn into seasonal ones. As these river-flows fall, agriculture, water supplies on which millions of people depend, and power generation and cultivation will be badly affected.
